Semester Final Graphics

Graphic Design

The first semester of graphic design was a fun one. using what I learned this year and what I had learned the year before, multiple projects were created. Some were harder than others, all completed as to the best of my abilities.

Fall Raccoon

The first project that I started this semester was the Fall Raccoon project. The project took all of us at the least two weeks since the project was our first one and bound to take a long time to create. I managed my project by dividing it into two sections. The first section being, to create a raccoon and other fall items, the second section was to create a fall scenery to suit the raccoon using the other fall items created in the first section

Challenges
A big challenge for me in this project has actually been the scenery because I was unsure of how to incorporate the other fall items I created into it at first. Gradually, I got an idea for what I was going for.

What I learned and Overall
In the first part I learned how to create berries, leaves, nuts, and a raccoon in Illustrator. I mostly learned how to use some tools that I didn't know how to use at first. When communicating with my peers, I came to the conclusion I needed to add a better grass outlook. That's how the stokes of paint, mimicking shreds of grass came into place.  I do believe there is more room for improvement, when it comes to shading and how the sky looks like. Overall, I like how it turned out in the end.

The next project we began to work on soon after this one took us a much longer time lasting at least 2 weeks for each of us. Now, using the raccoon we had originally created in our Fall raccoon project we were to create a card of any holiday or occasion where we would incorporate out raccoon into the card along with creating typography to suit the final product of the card. I started the project with an idea in my mind about what I wanted it to be like. Like I did with the Fall Raccoon I split the project into two parts. This time the first part would be designing the outlook of the card. I chose a Thank You card and blacked out my raccoon with a beige color out my raccoon and added in onto a lighter shade of the color. The second part was composed of making the typography for the card, then adding it into the first part.

Challenges
My biggest challenge was surely creating the Typography for the project. I knew where to start but had no idea where to go from there. I used a font to start of the basis of the typography but I didn't use it well and at first it looked horrid. I then changed fonts, which made a huge different as this font looked much better and suited the card better than the last font.

What I learned and Overall
While making this project I was sure to collaborate with some of the people around me to see if they saw anything off that I didn't. One of them saw I had a made a mistake regarding where the text on the back of the card was supposed to be placed and I corrected it. On the project I'm actually very satisfied with how it turned out it the finale. Despite my previous trouble with the typography, the type suited the card I liked the final look of the project.

The infographic was my favorite project to make. We were to pick a topic and then gather information on it to create our final product. At first I wanted to create an infographic on infographics for irony but I wasn't able to find good statistics to suit it.  then decided to change it the a real problem our world today. Basically speaking about child poverty in Africa as that is a big problem in todays world. For project management I split this project into three sections. The first part was to complete my outline of the project on paper. Second, to gather information on the topic I chose, third, I would start building the infographic.

Challenges
When creating the infographic I originally had a hard time deciding how to present my statistics using graphics and how I should center my information around those graphics. In the first infographic I created I started off with a munch large space but ended up cutting that space in half to better suit the graphics.

What I learned and Overall
During this project I learned the importance of color as I at first had a different color scheme than what I would eventually have after, The color are meant to suit the subject and also grab the attention of anyone passing by. I did also ask my peers for feedback in which they commented to me about the graphing tool that was available in Illustrator that I hadn't known about, which is how I came to create the graph in the upper right corner. In the end, I liked how the project came out. It looked nice, suited the topic I chose and had good statistics on it.

The final project we worked on took almost a month to complete as it was much more difficult than all the other projects. We were to take a photo of ourselves and vectorize it by adding vectors, then coloring them all in. This project was simple despite its difficulty. I ended up having to stay after in order to complete the final project.

Challenges
Work management, unlike all my other projects, was trouble with this one. Because I had to come after school I was having trouble organizing what would be more important to work on. My face? Or my hair? If it's my face then which feature would be easier to finish? It took a while to work everything out.

What I learned and Overall
My technical skills surely improved during this project as. I spend a lot of time with the pen tool creating multiple parts before adding even more onto that part. When asking for what I could improve on with the other students It was suggested I don't copy the exact color of whatever part of the vectored part. The light on my face made some of the colors look weird I changed some of them to better suit ht final image. In the end, I didn't like this project as much as the others, but certain parts on the project turned out extremely well.

My Strengths and Time Management

When talking about my strengths, I have to say project management as I never really get off topic on what I'm doing or when talking to my peers. I also usually split the project down into parts then set a deadline for each part in order to ensure I have everything done. I get something done before a deadline, I look for something improve or just get started on the next project early. I also have to pride myself on creativity for what I did on the Thank You card with creating a silhouette of the raccoon and for the topic I chose in the infographic and how I chose to present it. Last, I tend to pick up on things quickly so uI never had any problems on being behind or not understanding how to use a new tool. I often try out new tools and look in different sections to see if there's anything new for me to try out.

Improvement

What I need to improve on for sure is shooing statistics in graphics as I had struggled with that in my Infographic project. I also need to improve more on using some of the tools such as the pen tool. During the final project I had issues when creating my hair. Something else I nee to work on to to continuously ask for feedback from my peers. Although I did too so during my projects I get the idea thatI need to do it more often.

Behance
Whenever finished with a project we were to create a new file where we would put a step by step process on how we created each project. For the fall raccoon I was very specific with my Behance, clearly showing the step by step project. I did the same with the Thank You card, also adding a mock up with this one. The Vector and Infographic were much more simpler, Showing what I did along with a mockup to go along bedside it. Each of the Behance's creating are linked with each project.t

Summary
I've had a fun time this graphics semester. I'm satisfied with the work I've done and how well it turned out. What I enjoyed most about this semester is the Thank You card project as I found it very fun to create typography. If I had to actually change anything I'd just change how I worked on my final project. Now I know a lot more about Vectors and how to incorporate one thing into another. For next semester I'll have to see if I can improve on Time management and collaboration.

Semester Final Animation

Animation is a complicated form of art. There are different types of animation for starters, such as 3D and 2D, all of which can be created in different programs. During this year of animation I learned a lot about how to create these types of animations and even created one myself. Her the multitude of projects I've so far created I'll be discussing five.

Maya

Maya Castle

This year we learned about a new program known as 'Maya'. It centers around 3D modeling and animating, which is new for all of us as we have only done 2D. We were all learned new technical skills, though being taught the basics of the program, starting with making shapes then learning how to make those shapes different, whether it as with colors or size. Afterwards, we learned how to put the shapes together to create something new and how to put on textures. Using the tools given to us we created a castle using 'extrude' and other utensils. I started with a tower, creating a large gray cylinder before adding more shapes onto it. Afterwards came the walls, rectangles with smaller squares extended out. Next I added on a texture of white bricks, since I felt like that was best suited for a castle. In the end I had four walls and four towers which I organized accordingly to create my final product.

Maya Lighting

Of course, shapes aren't the most important aspect of animating. Lighting also takes a big role, not only in animating but in theater and in movies. Dramatic lighting can give a sense of dread to the viewer, putting in harsh lines on shadows where half of a face, for example, could be filed with get and the other half not even able to be seen because of the shadows. For a more comedy, no-so-scary movie, the lightening would be more 2D, coming from all around and giving a shine here another.
The main parts of lighting come from the key light, fill light and back light. All important aspects of lighting, each with their own role. The key light is the main light to focus on as it's the one that creates the most light, so where it shines is the brightest. The fill light is as the name says since it used to fill the space that the key light doesn't cover with light, usually at a lower hue and not as strong. The backlight it places behind whatever subject in being focused on, it provides a shine onto the subject as it's usually aimed from above.
We created an example of this in Maya. Since this project was the final one for the semester there was a limited time to complete it. Through project management, I separated the project out to get it created in the span of time I had left.  it started by creating a simple sphere before making is gold and adding shine onto it. By using booleans we subtracted parts of the circle out of place to leave a final shape. from there we created three lights, the key, fill and back light to illuminate the shape. This was a more difficult project as it required a lot of learning to actually complete, overall I'd change nothing bout it since it turned out exactly as I wanted it too.

Adobe

Walking Animation

3D projects were not the only projects we focused on. Near the beginning of the year we learned how to make a walking animation through Adobe Photoshop and Adobe AfterEffects. This was a 2d animation and a long process as it all began with creating a character. We all collaborated with each other to scramble some ideas for an original character to use in the animation. My character originally was a robot looking creature that I wasn't so fond of. I continued drawing random sorts of animals and creatures before creating a blob. Mostly out of boredom and lost hope, I gave the blob arms and legs and then decided this would be my character. Thus came Bob the blob.  Starting with drawing photos and then outlining them to upload onto Adobe Photoshop.
In Photoshop I had cleaned up Bob the blob, something that was one very easily by using different tools created a floor and sky for Bob the blob and added some extra images for the end of the animation. Then all of what was created Photoshop I moved into AfterEffects. Animating Bob the blob to walk was a challenge for me, however after re-doing the animation multiple times I finally got it to the point where I was satisfied. This project is a large building block when it comes to animating as walking is a fundamental characteristic of people. If I had to change anything about the project I did I would make Bob's steps longer as I felt they were too short. In the end it came out well.

Muliplane

The multiplane animation was first introduced by Walt Disney who noticed when filming an animation that specific parts, such as the moon enlarged when zooming in. This is not good, as the moon does not actually enlarge in real life, in order to make the animations seem more realistic he made planes. One plane could get bigger while the other one stayed short, thus making animations more realistic and more better.
With this in mind we began to make a multi-plane animation of our own. This project is also a fundamental piece to animating as it revolves around making a scene move in a more realistic manner. My greatest strength in this project was designing al the layers in photoshop as I painted the sky and shaded the grass to look just right. eventually we moved the project into Aftereffects where I had trouble animating the final product. The screen is shaky and the layers don't flow together as well I hoped but that's how I found out I accidentally, while in Photoshop, had saved some parts onto layers they weren't supposed to be on. But, nevertheless it looks alright and I'm fond of my color scheme.

Animation

The biggest project we worked on was making an actual animation that incorporated both walking and the multi-plane. I started with my story board which took me. long time to create, but was one of my favorite parts of doing the animation. Doing the storyboard gave me an idea of where I want to go with my animation and eventually I had it all put down and ready to go. By using the same methods in the walking animation to get the characters into the screen I editing the out just like before, also creating lots of different backgrounds in the process. A strength here was actually animating it all together as I had experience from doing the past two animations. In the end it looked good, although sadly without sound. If I could do it again I would figure to a way to add sound onto the video.

Animation

My Animation centered around a girl ordering candy then getting it taken away by Bob the blob, who thinks the candy is his. After a small conversation about who the candy really belongs too Bob the the blob proposes a race between the two to see who will get the candy. The race ends with a tie and neither of them get the candy as it gets stolen by a figure.

I used puppet pin, rotation, position, and opacity in the animation in which I learned how to put them in place much better than I had before. One of the troubles I went by when doing the animation was when I had to make the figures of the girl and blob first disappear under and then appear over a plane of ice. I eventually managed to get past this obstacle by making two different layers of ice. I also had to use the walking animation again in the skating part which ended pretty well I believe. The first time I did it I just used Position but this time I also had to use rotation. The animation came out pretty well for a first timer.

Panel Video

The multiplane animation was first introduced by Walt Disney who noticed when filming an animation that specific parts, such as the moon enlarged when zooming in. This is not good, as the moon does not actually enlarge in real life, in order to make the animations seem more realistic he made planes. One plane could get bigger while the other one stayed short, thus making animations more realistic and more better.

I made mine with five layers. Since this was my first time using more than one plane I admit that I made a multitude of mistakes, the min one being accidentally painting in the wrong layer. The animation part turned out better however. The part that I started with and my favorite part was doing the sky as it turned out the best layer and looked really cool in the end. I built up from there adding a back layer, a wall layer, a medium layer and a front layer. This is how it turned out.

Bob the Blob

Overview
These past few weeks in e-Com all us students have busied ourselves making a character and then teaching it how to walk. For my character I made a blob then gave it arms and legs, hence the name, 'Bob the Blob'. First we drew our characters out before snapping photos of them and inserting those into Photoshop. After editing each of the photos we then pt them all into Adobe After Effects where we animated a walk for our characters.

What We Learned
For this project we learned quite a bit, starting in Photoshop where we had too use the Dodge and Burn tool for shading and learned how to take out character from a photo to something more animated by adding color and re-lining all the edges. After putting into After Effects we learned how to animate the movements of the legs, basically adding rotation and potion to them in order to made it look like it's walking.

What Went Well, What Could've Improved
I think the walking cycle and my editing of the character went along very well and if I had to change anything it would be that of the grass because of how bland it looks compared to the rest to the animation.

InchBandaid

Overview
You may ask yourself, 'What is an inchbandaid?', and I'll tell you it's an inchworm that looks like a bandaid. This last week in e-Com we were to create an inchworm in Photoshop, transfer it to Adobe After Effects, there we would learn how to use the 'Pin' tool to make it move.
It was easy to accomplish making an inchworm in Photoshop and I admit that it took me some tie to get used to using it like a puppet in Adobe After Effects. At first it took me a while to understand how to move it correctly and effectively but in the end this is the result:

What I Learned
First and foremost I learned how to turn a normal looking inchworm into a bandaid. Second I learned how to use the 'Pin' tool in After Effects to make it move. we were to put 6 pins on the worm in total then as the video went on we would move the points that controlled to worm to make it look like it was inching across the screen.

How it Went
Overall, I think my project went really well. The worm inched across the screen and left, all while looking like a bandaid. If I was to do this again I would definitely try to improve the worm in looks but there than that it all went well, except for the few times in the animation that the worm overlapped itself.

Bouncing Ball animation

The Project

This is the new bouncing ball animation, much like the one done originally last year. Overall we created a scene and ball in Photoshop then brought it to life in After Effects. Going through Photoshop was easy, creating three separate layers, one for the ground the sky and the last one for the ball. After adding highlighting to it we the transferred it to After Effects. In there we added animations to the ball, basically making it move across the screen and putting squash and stretch along with rotating it along the way.

What I Learned

Before this project I had never really used After effects so through the duration of this project I learned a lot about how to use it correctly and easily. I learned how to use tools, such as, the rotate tool, the move tool, and the anchor tool. Also I earned how to squash and stretch effectively to really make it look a bot more realistic here and there.

Next Time

If the occasion ever cam where I would do this project again I would use squash and stretch more effectively and add more rotation onto the ball. Maybe add n a sun and make the clouds move as well in the background. Also, maybe I'd make the balls bouncing pattern more unique.

Using Photoshop

Another school year, another blog post. At the start of this years graphic branch in e-Com we started with Photoshop. I, myself, have never had the occasion use it before and I actually had a lot of fun going through the tutorials that were given for us. The concept was simple. We'd follow along on a video on our own in photoshop. So far with the tutorials given to us, this is some of what I have accomplished:

Now, in some of the photos you provably don't see whats so 'Photoshop' about it. Starting with the black and white photo of the younger boy, originally his face was covered in mud and dirt. Using the 'Spot Healing Brush' and some masks here and there I was able to eliminate most of the original stains that were there.
Then, the one right under it of the lady with her navy jacket on. In the photo that we were given, there  was a tag hanging out right where you can see her left arm touching her jacket. But where, you may ask, has this tag gone? Using the 'Clone Stamp' and the 'Healing Brush' all evidence that the tag was even there is now gone.
Last but not least we have the lady on the top with her blue dress and purse. In the photo given you could see to the left of her the spot light stand which, was not wanted at all. Using the tool known as 'Content Aware Fill', it was easily taken off from the photo.
Skills
My personal favorite tool to use out through the whole process was actually the 'Healing Brush' tools. Spot healing brush was used to get rid of stains and unwanted bits and pieces here and there, while the regular healing brush was able to help erase evidence that a much more obvious object ever existed. I know it will be incredibly helpful in the future because you never know when an unwanted object or spot might sneak its way into your photograph.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Probably my biggest strength was being able to get through all of the tutorials given to us easily and quickly. But my weakness lies in the quickly part. I'm sure I might have skipped over something while trying to complete the project. While all of my final products turned out rather well I admit maybe in one or two if you look close enough you might find something off.
What could've been done differently
For starters I definitely could've taken my time more and made sure to review everything that I had done. Other than that all I can think of is double checking that my final product looked like the final product in the tutorial as well.
What I'd do the same
Everything else most likely. Following along with the video rather than stopping it then working and also using the tools in the exact manners as shown in the videos is what I would keep the same if I was ever to this all over again.
Final thoughts
Learning how to use Photoshop has been a fun and long experience that isn't over just yet. I'm looking forward to what I'll be using photoshop to do in the future and I really like how all my products came out in the end. Here are the rest of the examples that I'd created throughout the following week:

Animation's Importance

As a kid, most of us grew up with some sort of T.V. in the living room or kitchen where we would always watch cartoons while snacking or having dinner or maybe not eating anything. These cartoons are a form of animation. Animation is a huge influence on us since we've been seeing it almost for our entire lives.

The original animation was the magic box (1650) that would display images in a fashion to make them look like a character was doing an action. From there is started to grow into longer animations telling short stories with crude pictures. Eventually those curse pictures turned into vibrant colors, much better designed and much longer. Eventually going to 3-D and lasting hours long.

Animation has almost lasted 400 years and is still growing and getting better every day.  In the link at the end, it talks all about how animation has evolved from the magic box to Walt Disney on the big screens.

4th Quarter Reflection

In the 4th Quarter of e-Communication we did a project that required collaboration and a team effort to do. We were to make a product and present it to the class. It took the entire quarter and needless to say I wish my team had more time to work. I was paired up with, personality wise, people who were the complete opposite of me. We did not get along well at first and I considered multiple times asking for a new group or, if possible, to do the project by myself. However that proved not to be the case and as time went by we figured out how to work well as a team. I learned it's good to give people second chances and that patience comes in handy in situations when you think you can't get along with the people around you. This project helped me understand the importance of collaboration in e-Communication. Surely, by myself, I wouldn't have been able to get so much work done.

When working on the project my team never much asked for help or feedback unless it from a teacher. Thus, during the making of the project we kept what work we had done at first, it was rare for us to make any changes. One of the changes that we actually put in place was the video with the intermission part. But in my overall opinion of the work during 4th quarter was that I could've done better in many ways.  Specifically when it came to our animations and collaborating. Still, I think we did a pretty good job.

During the time we had this 4th quarter I believe that my time was use effectively, spare a few moments when I got aught up in interesting conversation. I can't say the same for my teammates however. If there was I time where I finished early I would ask my teammate to review my work and tell me if there was anything I could've done better or that could be changed. Outside of class I'm on the Robotics Team, graphics. This came in handy during the Graphics part of the project when I was able to use a lot of different tools and skills that many of the other freshman did not know about. It was fun showing off to my teammates about all that I've learned from the Robotics Team.

After one year of e-Communication I think I've learned a lot. I did not before know how to use any of the Adobe Programs, how to create an animation, or the rule of thirds. However, if I had to choose an area of strength it would most certainly be Graphic due to how much fun I consider it an all I've learned about it from Robotics. If I had to choose an area of weakness it would be Video because it requires collaboration with whoever you're videoing or it would require me to be in from of a  camera. Both of which I'm not fond of. During the 4th quarter I tried to do my best when it came to filming and collaborating with my fellow teammates about what we wanted to do.

In this last semester of e-Com if I was to choose a favorite part, it would be the days I called Mr. Cooper out on being sassy so that he'd eventually owe the whole class donuts. Perhaps it would be whenever I finished feeling and had the nice feeling of accomplishment or maybe even watching other people's video's to see how they interpreted what we learned that semester. Doing the Website had been fun too. If I got to turn back the clock, I'd have been a little more willing to cooperate with my teammates when it came to the final project.

I learned more about video in this semester than I have in my entire life with the rule of thirds, the 180 rule and all the different camera angles. Besides that I learned about the importance of collaboration when it came to doing important projects such as the final. For next year one of my main goals will to collaborate effectively, put my skills to good use whether I'm working by myself or with someone else and not to have any late assignments. Ever. I believe that this year of e-Communication is the best of many to come. I'm excited for what awaits me in this class as a tenth grader.

The Final Project

My team for the 4th quarter project called ourselves 'Puppy Productions' with our product 'Bow-Wow' which was a device installed a treat that when consumed by your dog would allow transmissions to reach your phone sending you in texts what your dog is thinking. Our slogan was, 'When your having a ruff day, your dog will know just what to say'.

We started with making our video which took us a while to edit, but overall turned out pretty well. We ended up having to re-edit it in oder to put our animation in it during the 'intermission'. Afterwards we went to Mrs. Smith's room too do our graphic design, which was my favorite part of the doing the project. Since I am in the robotics graphic design I picked up some ideas from there to use on our logo and such when bringing it to life. When it came to animation I was in charge of making the website and my teammates were to be making the rest of the project, however there was a confusion with the 3-D animation and we were not able to get it done.

I learned a lot about DreamWeaver when I was making the website. Choosing the font and linking everything together was very fun and I enjoyed it. When it came to collaboration I leaned it's important to find a way to motivate your team members. This whole project relied on our ability to work together effectively and looking back on it we could have done a much better job at that.

If I had to this over again I would finish the 3-D animation and figure out the 2-D animation to make it better, since I don't really liked how it came out. Also i think I'd collaborate a lot better with my teammates since they're as important to this project as I am. The video could also use more work because the tapes we the dogs we took would be great inside of the video. They were not originally used because we lost them somewhere in the files. Also with the website, I would've created another panel in order to show off the animations and graphics.

I'd keep the designs we used in Graphics because I think we did an excellent job with coming up with the color scheme and using it effectively in all of our graphic designs. I especially liked the idea that we used in the ad and in the product logo. I'd also keep the original animation because of how I ended up using it into video along with the blooper that was shown in the end.

The presentation was definitely more a less of a success depending on how you see it. Our speaking parts, where we talked more about the product we did a well job on along with the presentation of the video, however I don't think everyone noticed our animation in the 'intermission part' since it was small for whatever reason. If I had to do it differently I'd be more specific when pointing out the animation and have put in more graphics so they could've been seen. Also it would be better to have talked about what each team member had done to create this.

In all, even though my team did do a reasonably well job i believe we could've done much better and I plan using the experiences of the collaborations done here in future projects in e-Communication.

Last Day of Animating

Our Website is going extremely well and our animation is almost finished, which I do not have screen shots of sadly. We're almost done with our Website which is also going goos. Our #-D part of the project is already done. We are working alright together though I do admit that we could be doing better.

The Project (so far)

In e-Communication we're been in graphics for a while now and the work we've done is pretty good. I admit that our work in Video wasn't the best so I was hoping to make it up with our work in graphic design. So far so good. We've almost finished with everything except for our coupon. The work we do have done is our Product and Company logo, our Product Ad and our Website Banner.

The colors that are being used for it are a light blue, grays, white, browns, and black. The company logo is a large 'P' shape with stripes onto of that there being another 'P' shape that is the light blue with the shadow figure of a dog in it. This stand for our company name which is 'Puppy Productions', not my idea for a name but it worked well. To the right of the P's there was two letters which included 'UPPY' and 'RODUCTIONS" since we didn't the the need to put P's in front of the
word since we already had the other design.

We also had to make the Product logo which was very simple to us. It was a simple blue color contained in a circle wit a dog in it. The dog had a bone in its mouth and above the circle it had the words 'Bow-wow' with the '-' being a bone. The words themselves where a lighter blue than the actual one of the circle.

The Web Banner was the hardest to do in my opinion. In seemed oddly plain when we were done with it. The banner was black with our slogan featured to the left of the banned saying 'When you're having a ruff day, count on your dog to know what to say'. In the middle was our Product logo then off to the right was our company logo. In the middle of the banner was a white circle that blended with the rest of the black banner.

The Product ad was different than that of the Product logo. It's a square ad with a black background and on the top left corner is our company logo. In the top middle is the Product logo, which looks much bigger than the company. The Product logo has been given a drop shadow and there are splatters of paint going behind it. Below that logo there's the slogan we've been using.

The coupon is looking very well. The coupon has our product logo in the center of a square, which is cut diagonally with the left side being a more brownish and the right being a light shade of gray. Besides that there is the slogan to the right of the scanner.

Website

Recently, these couple weeks we have all been working on two different projects. The first one is our last video that we've been filming, the Chase Scene. The other one is a website project that this out will talk more about. I'm very proud of how it turned out. We made this using DreamWeaver and interactions that were available to us in GoogleClassroom.

The process for all of this was incredible easy, starting with us opening DreamWeaver then making a new file. From there we attached the new pile to the file containing the poem and some others. After that we started editing. Going into different sectors we edited each of them according to the instructions that were included in GoogleClassroom. When finishing we would then open it up in Safari and took screen shots.

There was nothing new here, we just simply followed the same intrusions that we had on our last web project. Although this one did prove to be differently made since instead of putting our latest projects on it, we instead put a poem on it. The only part that proved to be difficult would be the part where we had to put the font into the code instead of where we would regularly put it.

If I had to this all over again I would pay more attention to the instruction but other than that I would do nothing else differently since I think this is one of my few projects that turned out very well first try. Still, I will admit having a few difficulties with the instructions here and there. Mostly because of how unclear they could be.

Overall this was a fun project and easier than expected even with it few bumps here and there. Coming up next is the Chase Scene. My finished product (right) compared to the original (left):

Apple Description

For some reason today in e-Com the teacher has decided to tell us to write about an apple, which picture is right now up on the board. It’s a red apple with yellow an the top, slightly streaking down from it. The apple has some shine going off of it and a stem poking out from the top. It’s very round, I’m not so sure where i’m going with this so to continue it looks delicious.

I'm a... Beaver?

After a three-day weekend we're finally back in school and in e-Com once again. So far in the start of this week we have taken a quiz that shows to which animal we relate to the most. Apparently I got the animal of a beaver. Beavers, (or at least so the quiz says) are a organized type that think there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. They're creative and want to solve everything. So far I'm agreeing with everything that I'm reading about this but my only disagreement is the whole 'beavers take their time' which appears later in the paragraph. I'm always rushing about. But overall I think it was pretty accurate.

When we were done with this test we then took another test which determined who we are with the following different types, Invert or Extrovert, Intuitive or Sensing, Thinking or Feeling, Judging or Perceiving. I got INTJ, which I think describes me fairly well. So far I'm liking the quizzes we're taking and how accurate they are.

The INTJ personality is very interesting in my opinion, so I'm glad to have it. However I don't think I'm a very 'judging'  person. I'm not so sure yet what being judging is supposed to mean but I don't believe it suits me.

I think I'm more perceiving than judging since perceiving people are more adaptable to situation while judging aren't. I'd like to think I'm more perceiving than judging. Everything else gets me really well though, I'm definitely an introvert, intuitive and thinking. I can agree wth being a introvert since I'm not talker and not one to make friends easily. It's also nice to see celebrities who share this personality type as me.

From A to B

Recently in e-Communication we were partnered up to make a video where we would be trying to get  from one place to another, in this project I took all the footage while my partner walked form the second floor of the school to our courtyard. We used the 6 shot system and attempted to ry to use he rule of thirds, though I don't think that went well. But overall the project was actually proved to be fun to do and in the end i actually liked how it turned out.

The Process
Getting the camera and stand for it was easy, using it was harder. Unlike in the other video I took for the six shot system, in where we had normal stand the stand that we had in this project was slightly damaged making it harder to stand up correctly.
We started at my locker, which was conveniently on the second floor. Writing a quick scribbled note, my partner acted to be surprised then we began the process of walking down the halls and stairs all the way to the courtyard. Getting to the courtyard was harder than you might've imagined since the doors were at first locked, leaving me and my partner on a small journey to find a custodian.

What I Learned
If anything I learned that when making a video like this, it's better to make 50% of it close-ups/extreme close-ups. This makes the video more interesting in a way. Besides that we still used Premiere and the same camera's as last time so I didn't actually learn much this time.

What Could Have Gone Better
Some of the shots I actually didn't like at all. There's this one shot of going down the stairs, but the camera was angled wrong and it paned the shot. I didn't notice until editing the video, so I'm really annoyed at that shot. And in another shot you can see he camera stand in the background. Giving the chance to that again I would be more careful of the camera and what's in the shot.

The 6 Shot System

Process of Making the Video
Recently in e-Com we've taken it upon ourselves to make a video that includes the six shot system in it, including all of the shots. While some people for more creative ideas I chose to do something more simple. My video is just me on a laptop using all of the shots which include, wide shot, establishing shot, close up, over shoulder, median shot and extreme close up.

The filming part was actually kind of annoying since we had to set up the camera at all different angles to make sure we had the different shots. After taking all of the videos in different shots we then went to Adobe Premier to put everything together. It was really easy to do, after placing all the videos in the correct order. From there it was easy to unlink the videos from their sound, take away the sounds and replace it.

What Was New
Until this assignment I had ever used Adobe Premier before, it proved to be actually very simple to use. We simply dragged the videos into the program and then stated editing it with the tools provided form the program, which included shortening the video and changing the sound. I took out the sound in my video and put in a song that I hope fit the theme of my video.
Afterwards, uploading the video to youtube, was not new, but putting it on google classroom was actually something I'd never done before and too me sometime to figure out.

What Could've Been Done Better
I admit that during filming I failed to follow the 180 rule at the end of the video. If I ever am to try this again I will be sure to fix that mistake. Besides that I didn't really like where I had sat during the video. Overall I think I did a decent job.
We also got feedback of our work from our classmates. Some of the feedback I got was mostly about how the camera was shaky during one of the shots and that the music I chose didn't much fit what I had been doing in the video.

Camera Shots

In e-Communication we all officially entered the video part of the course, which has so far been very fun, with our first assignment being to take pictures sing the different types of shots. The shots that we've recently been learning include, wide-shot, median shot, extreme wide-shot, close-up, extreme close-up, and over-the-shoulder. After choosing a partner, we took pictures using these types of shots.

The first shot taken above is a extreme-wide shot of the front of our school. It shows the complete front of the main entrance to the school.

The shot shown above is known as 'over-the-shoulder. Which, quite literally, is just a shot of over the shoulder of someone.

This shot, here, is called a 'median' shot. It shows the complete body of a person.

The shot here is a 'close-up' shot. A close-up shot is one of a person usually shoulders up.

Here is a regular 'wide-shot' of school hallway.

In this photo is shows nothing more than the persons face, which s known as an 'extreme close-up' shot.

So far that is what we've done in this new class. It's been pretty fun so far and I look forward to what we will be doing in the near future.
